Finished town....and the Sax Horse

The finished town concept. I think overall despite several difficulties to recover the damn file off of Lindsay's flash drive it is here! The colors and shadows turned out well I think, the use of layers worked well to achieve value. I would like to go back later and try to change up some of the texture a bit I think, but otherwise lookin' good.

And Now without further distraction the creation of the universe as presented by the Sax Horse!

Town continued

Today I added some detail to the background building as well as hills beyond the city walls. I also roughly slathered some color on the building in the foreground and added some shadows.

Plans for whats next. Detail front buildings, work out bugs with the hills, decided if I want street lamps or not, make final decision on what the towers are for...if anything other then the rule of cool. And add the final shadows to the whole thing.

The town that isn't.....yet!

Here is a quick look at the progress I have so far on my idea. The first image is an early concept a sketched in on the tablet in class.

The idea evolved the next day while I was at work drawing in my sketch book. This sketch was what I decided to go with for the time being.

Here is a look on the current progress of the idea. I am still working with color trying to figure out exactly how to get photoshop to do what I want it to. Right now the plan is to just get some color on there and them work on shadows and light mostly after wards.

Enviroment Ideas

I have been thinking about making a enviroment that is a port of sorts. I really enjoy mixing things up making things that are sort of timeless. I want to make the town very Victorian London looking, however with more steam. I love steam punk and clockwork. I have some pictures from Fable 2 I am geting some ideas from.

I am kicking around some ideas bout what with be docked at the port. I am thinking either steampunk wooden ship or space ships/ Or some variation of the two put together... I'll get back to you on that.

Working in Living Color

Today I decided to mess with photoshop's color options, while at the same time busting out another character based on me and returning to my somewhat silly true nature. Here we have three stage of the development of this cartoon version of me.

Bombastas!

The picture above is a creature Hastings and I created last year named "Bombastas". He is the embodiment of all my silliness into one character concept. Beyond that the resemblance between Bombastas and myself ends. Well I guess he does get pumped up and yells a lot, but his yelling vocabulary is significantly less ususaly relying of such phrases as "Oh Yeah", "Bombastas!" and "Bring the Thunder". His name was one I chose I always imagined him blowing thing up with bombs, however it is additionally appropraite as I have since been in formed that the word bombastic litterally means ridicuouls. Other Bombastas picture will probably appear at some point or another.

A begining

So begins the first entry. With that said I will now complain about how my scanner is confusing and my roommate with the knowledge to use it properly is sleeping. So for today I will simply post some of the work I have been drawing in class with photoshop.

These two sketches are of an RP character I made a while back, who was very loosely based off myself. Well, at least the more serious side of me. His name is Alexander Sidon, he is suppose to be something of a exorcist...with guns. The first image is a rougher concept that I might continue on later, while I like the more detailed sketch on the right as it is.

at any rate, as mentioned my scanner is having issues however soon as it is working I will put up some sketch book art first chance.
