Well Excuse me but I think You've got my Chair...

This week I bring you 2 old remakes and 1 semi-remake

1. "The Chair"
This was always a favorite of mine, hailing from the second RTB I believe. The newer version is a little different then the original. I trimmed it down by a panel or two and changed the dialog around a bit to make it funnier and to make it reference "The Chair" more directly.
It occurs to me some of you might not get this initially. To avoid ask you to at least be semi-familiar with the George Strait song "The Chair".

All in all I consider this remake a shining success. The initial concept and joke has remained intact while at the same time improved, while the art look significantly cleaner as well. As I recall the original was kinda clunky and ended with Colton saying something to the effect of "You can still cry on the Jukebox together". Looking back it was some what laughable if only for the fact that no one quite got it but me and Colton yet they still pretended too. At any rate, this one has always been some what special to me and I am glad that it turned out so well in the remake.

2. "At The Movies"
The following is also a remake of a sort, the original was one I made several years ago while I was experimenting with gimp, although I think I had some version of this even longer ago that I did on paint...possibly? Anyway, this one is wonderful in the beautiful simplicity with which is conveys the awkwardness of the the high school experience. The featured characters are of classic Brent (as opposed to neoclassic Brent) and Jen.

Jen has always been an interesting character as she is one of the few characters I have who is not based to a point, on a real person. I only had her show up in a handful of comics in which I wanted to Brent interact in an awkward romantic manner. I sort of abandoned using Jen as a character after Brent actually got a girl friend, because well... drawing him interacting awkwardly with his real girl friend seemed funnier. At any rate I am defiantly considering reviving Jen as a character for future strips.

3. "The Beta"
Sadly I am not quite done with this one. Photoshop decided to crash at 3 am this morning and I took that as a sign that perhaps I needed to get some sleep. However this morning I decided to toss up what I had at least for now. I will probably finish putting in the last few bits of color and the Dialog bubbles later today. Until then let me just tease you with the words...

"Let me tell you about the Fucking Beta!"

New Comics...well Newish

First things first. Read it...Love it...Live it. I Do.

Below are 2 remakes of old comics and a finally completed version of the long awaited "Operation Hold Me Naked". I hoped to have more finish on a few of them, however I was having some issue getting the tablet to work properly since the computer got repaired and once things got sorted out did not have the time I had hoped. Well at any rate

Operation Hold Me Naked.
This is one I have been meaning to make for some time. I drew up the sketches quite some time ago and had since lost them somewhere until recently. This is the first time I have mixed real objects into my comics, hence the joke. not sure if I will do it again. At any rate the "poster" is very real and is hanging on the wall of the kitchen.

"What do you Mean he Won't Return them!".
The following is based on actual events from Trevor's adventure with the UPS some time ago. I find it best not to ask to many questions about this comic. Do I really want to know why Trevor purchased bondage pants? Do I really want to know why Mr. Jersey did not decide to return said bondage pants?..... Some times its best not to know

Absolute Crap.
This is another remake of a sort, of an old one from the silver age of the RTB. One Trev and I came up with that Eichner (needless to say) did not allow in the paper. Well its back and here it is.

RTC Spring Project

For lack of better name this will be called Operation Hold Me naked, in honor of a the comic I made prior.

Basic objective is to bolster the numbers of comics, while continuing to home my tablet skills and define a digital style for my work.

This is really more of a continuation of the RTC Restoration Project from last summer. Although bigger and grander then before. In addition to remaking old sketches in the digital format I intend to mix it up and also produce brand new strips as well. The I idea I have is about 1 of each a week.

Some things I have been looking at alot for inspiration are Axe Cop, Penny Arcade, Brad Neley and Fables.

Not all of these are specifically artistic source material but certainly help me brain storm the funny. Well except fables which is just epic.
